York Gardens offers memory care apartments in a smaller, more intimate setting with a higher staffing ratio. York Gardens is Edina’s premier memory care community, with private memory care apartments designed for those living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related illnesses. As part of Fairview Health Services, York Gardens has access to the latest therapies and practices to help those with memory loss reduce anxiety, engage their memories, and improve socialization and confidence levels.

York Gardens' memory care neighborhood is a low-stress, welcoming area with accessible spaces for community activities. Thoughtfully designed to promote comfort and security, York Gardens’ controlled-access memory care neighborhood features calming colors, special lighting, and comfortable furniture to accommodate those with disabilities.

Engaging Activities Designed to Promote Brain Health

Residents are encouraged to participate and engage in creative arts and learning activities. Calming and energizing activities tailored to the residents current needs can include aromatherapy, painting, and baking. We provide therapeutic tasks to help keep residents active and engaged. Whether your loved one needs minimal or maximum care, you can trust that our York Gardens staff will treat them with respect, care, and compassion.

Dimensions® Memory Care stresses the importance of understanding the individual needs of a person with dementia and trains caregivers to respond to them with compassion and creativity.

At York Gardens, enrichment activities are carefully chosen and customized to connect with each resident’s interests and preserve and enhance their physical, cognitive, and social skills. We provide all our Memory Care residents with physical exercise, stress management and reduction therapies, cognitive exercises, sensory activities, and meaningful social and individual engagement.
